Transportation

Residents primarily rely on their own means of transportation (i.e. cars), however, a substantial amount also use public transportation, be it the bus, railroad or ferry. The s79 is a common bus route people use to get to Brooklyn, and people use both the ferry and the express bus equally to get to Manhattan. Although the Staten Island Railroad is a good way to get around the island, it has a major shortcoming of only having one route.

With an unemployment rate of 8%, this results in a median household income of $85,000. Additionally, the statistics further support the reliance on public transportation and personal vehicles. Furthermore, the crime rates are quite low, with only 0.5 crimes per 1,000 residents.
