Staten Island is one of the five boroughs of New York City (NYC). Characterized by suburbia and many greenspaces, Staten Island is the least populated borough, but still offers a unique lifestyle from that of the other four boroughs.
Dubbed the “Borough of Parks,” Staten Island has many landmarks, from museums to historical buildings. However, Staten Island is notorious for its maintenance of open natural spaces, from parks to beaches to botanical gardens. Clove Lake Park and Wolfe’s Pond Park are one of the many vast parks that offer much to do, such as restaurants or tennis courts.
Staten Island does not shy away from its rich history and culture, either. Historic Richmond Town provides a glimpse of the past as the preserved buildings tell a story of American life. Snug Harbor is its own pocket of culture through its performing arts center and Chinese garden.
